Ebru Timtik – biography

The fighter for justice, Ebru Timtik was born on June 14, 1978, in Yıldız Bağları neighborhood, in the city of Elazığ, eastern Turkey(Northern Kurdistan), in a family originating from Dersim province, located in the same region. When she was 7 years old, she lost her father, then her life passed in poverty and difficulties. She performed well in the exam after finishing primary school and was accepted to study at a natural science high school. In this school, which has many children from rich families, she sees for the first time the class differences as well as the different attitudes of the teachers towards the children, which awakens in her a sense of anger.

İbrahim Gökçek – Short Biography

He was born on September 30, 1980, in the city of Kayseri, central Turkey. İbrahim Gökçek became acquainted with the revolutionary struggle while he was a student studying Tourism and Hotel Management at Anatolian University in the city of Eskişehir, central Turkey. After working among the youth, he became the bass guitarist of Grup Yorum in the period after 2004-2005 and began to make art for the people.

The last words of Deniz Gezmiş, Hüseyin İnan and Yusuf Aslan, which were said minutes before each of them was hanged in the courtyard of Ankara Central Prison.

Deniz Gezmiş:

“Long live a fully independent Turkey! Long live Marxism-Leninism! Long live the brotherhood of the Kurdish and Turkish people! Down with Imperialism! Long live the workers, the peasants!”

Hüseyin İnan:

“Without seeking any personal gain, I fought for the happiness and independence of my people. Until now, I have carried this flag with honour. Henceforth, I hand over this flag to the Turkish people. Long live the workers, the peasants and long live the revolutionaries. Down with fascism.”

Yusuf Aslan:

“I die with my honour only once, for the sake of the independence of my country and the happiness of my people. You, those who hang us will die every day in your dishonor. We serve our people. You serve the USA. Long live the revolutionaries! Down with fascism!”

The second letter from Mustafa Koçak’s cell was written by the revolutionary political prisoner Güven Usta.

Güven Usta is a political prisoner who spent with Mustafa the last month of his life from 25 March to 23 April 2020.

In his letter, Güven Usta, talks about Koçak’s daily life, how he fought until his last moment to continue living and how he was filled with determination to continue the resistance even if it cost him his life.
